Needless to say I am pomegranate crazy (cake, pasta, cocktails, you name it) and this Pomegranate
Cranberry Smoothie really makes my Saturday. It is packed with refreshing fruit that’s high in
antioxidants, protein packed Greek yogurt and a touch of raw honey for a bit of extra sweetness.
Instead of pomegranate juice I decided to freeze some fresh
pomegranate arils, the night before I made this smoothie. It’s great to use fresh seasonal fruit, and the
frozen pomegranate lends frostiness to the drink. Here’s a quick tutorial for removing the arils from the
pomegranate (Simply Recipes - How to De Seed a Pomegranate).
This Pomegranate Cranberry Smoothie has it all for a great
breakfast or an afternoon pick me up.
With the absence of any kind of refined sugar and lots of protein, this
smoothie will keep you going for hours without the typical sugar crash.
Even if it’s super chilly outside you have to give this
smoothie a try. Your tummy will
thank you!
